What a stroke of luck to find this dog behind the wheel of an old truck parked on the street in Calistoga, CA. I literally ran to my car for my camera. The title “OLD FAITHFUL” seems to apply to both the pickup and the dog.

I found this old abandoned farm house in a remote area of Siskiyou County. It was obviously a fine home in its day. This is a scene from the corral on the ranch where I grew up. Beef is sold by the pound on the hoof as well as in the grocery store so cattle are weighed in the scale house when sold. Photographed in Siskiyou County, CA.

Evening sun is filtered through the smoke of distant forest fires to give an interesting lighting effect. One rancher said that ranching made him a millionaire – then he added he started out as a multi-millionaire.
